"One of the most rewarding aspects is seeing the long-term impact of our work. Months or even years after a project, clients still remember what we achieved together."

Aymeline Staigre – Manager  – Centrale Méditerranée (2018)

How did you progress at Avencore?

I joined Avencore as a junior consultant right after my studies and progressively grew into a manager role. The transition from consultant to manager has been the most challenging, but also the most rewarding step. It marked a shift from focusing mainly on project delivery to taking on broader responsibilities, including team coaching and business development. Along the way, I have developed a more comprehensive skillset, which I now enjoy sharing with newcomers to illustrate how quickly you can grow at Avencore.

What has been the most rewarding part of working on a project with Avencore?

One of the most rewarding aspects is seeing the long-term impact of our work. Months or even years after a project, clients still remember what we achieved together. For example, after an 8-month transformation project, I saw job openings created as a direct result of the new organization we helped design. Similarly, when I come across product launches or certifications for programs I contributed to, I feel proud to have played a role in their success.

In what ways has your consulting experience changed your perspective on business strategy?

What surprised me most is how similar strategic challenges can be across very different industries. Whether in defense, advanced technologies, or pharmaceuticals, companies often face comparable issues. The methodologies used to address them are also quite similar, even if the solutions differ depending on the company’s context, culture, and objectives. This highlighted for me how critical it is to fully understand the context before defining the right strategy.

How do you contribute to the growth and success of Avencore as a consultant?

At Avencore, everyone contributes to the firm’s development, regardless of their level. From interns to partners, we are encouraged to share ideas and take initiative, which fosters strong ownership and continuous learning. On a personal level, I had the opportunity to contribute to the development of the decarbonization practice, engaging collaborators across all seniority levels. This involved building my expertise on the topic, structuring a coherent offering, and pitching it to potential clients. This kind of opportunity is a real accelerator, allowing consultants to go beyond project delivery and actively contribute to the firm’s growth.

What tips do you have for students about starting a career in consulting?

Be curious and proactive. Don’t hesitate to share your ideas, even if they’re not perfect at first: it’s one of the fastest ways to learn. Consulting is a great environment to build both skills and confidence, provided you stay humble and eager to learn.
