"The trust and appreciation from our clients stand out as the most rewarding aspect of the job."

Jean Huck – Consultant – Arts & MétiersGeorgia Institute of Technology (2020)

Why did you decide to become an Avencore consultant?

I chose to join Avencore to combine my passion for the industrial sector with the dynamic, fast-paced nature of consulting. The opportunity to work in a growing firm with a challenger mindset was a perfect match for me.
What I value most is the variety in my role—working directly with industrial clients to solve high-stakes challenges, balancing field visits to client plants with strategic analysis at the office. This diversity offers both autonomy and a fresh perspective every day.

What does a typical day as an Avencore consultant look like for you?

My day often starts with a mix of client calls and travel to customer sites, followed by business lunches or catch-ups with colleagues. Some days even include playing sports with colleagues. Every day brings new experiences and challenges.
The work itself is highly dynamic. Innovation is at the core of what we do, as we act as technological and organizational guarantors for our clients. Staying on top of the latest advancements enables us to craft impactful, cutting-edge recommendations tailored to their needs.

What has been the most rewarding part of working on a project with Avencore?

The trust and appreciation from our clients stand out as the most rewarding aspect of the job. Seeing our strategic recommendations successfully implemented in the field is very gratifying.
One unforgettable moment for me was receiving a heartfelt thank-you email from a finance director after months of collaboration. It was a genuine recognition of the value we delivered, and moments like that make the hard work worthwhile.

What advice would you give to an engineer considering a career in consulting?

Stay curious and cultivate strong business acumen—these qualities will serve you well. Consulting offers a unique path to rapid learning and development, so embrace every opportunity to grow and adapt.
For engineers, consulting is a natural fit. Beyond leveraging technical expertise, the role demands intellectual curiosity, the ability to navigate complexity, and a focus on delivering results efficiently—all of which are traits engineers excel at.
