Christian BARYSCH

For nearly two decades, Christian Barysch has worked to drive measurable improvements in industrial performance, a mission he continues today as Managing Partner for the DACH region at Avencore and member of the firm’s global executive committee. In this role, he works with clients in aerospace & defense, energy, transportation, and process industry to improve their industrial competitiveness. His expertise covers various areas from OPEX and CAPEX efficiency, to industrial ramp-ups, major industrial programs and operating models, helping clients to strengthen competitiveness and execute transformation at scale.

Christian’s project work has delivered lasting results for clients across sectors. In the energy sector, he supported the development of a standardized hydrogen electrolyser portfolio delivering a 17% reduction of EPC costs. In the space sector, he worked on a holistic performance program combining various levers in project management, engineering and procurement. Addressing both technical and cultural aspects, the initiative helped the client regain competitiveness after tender losses and achieve a 15% cost reduction. In a recent defense project, he strengthened the robustness of an early-stage program, improving schedule resilience and safeguarding ramp-up ambitions while reducing project costs by 9%.

As a consultant, Christian’s perspective is rooted in extensive industry experience from within global corporations and a doctorate in engineering. At Bosch, he managed relocation projects, production ramp-ups, and engineering programs in Germany and China, gaining firsthand insight into the challenges of scaling operations. Earlier at Volkswagen, he worked in automotive product development. Today, these experiences allow him to bridge the gap between strategic ambition and operational reality to design solutions that resonate with client teams.
